It's time again for a little update regarding my forthcoming book ABBA On Record - Packaged Promoted Reviewed. The researching and writing of this book is what takes up most of my time, usually seven days a week.

I have good news and bad news. Let's start with the bad news: There's no chance I will have this book ready by June 2022, as I somewhat optimistically hoped a while ago. The reasons are many, but mainly everything to do with writing this book is just so time-consuming. I've never experienced anything like it; when I first announced it I'd naïvely thought it would take about a year or so, and here we are and it's still not finished. At the moment I hope and pray that it will be finished before the end of 2022.

Am I unconcerned about the delay? Of course not. I'm not in the habit of promising people something and then having to continually postpone its delivery. But the reason for the book's delay is only because I want the book to be as great as possible: informative as well as engaging.

So, for the readers waiting for ABBA On Record, there's really only one downside: the book has been postponed. Everything else about the delay is a positive: a much better book, or in other words, more bang for your bucks.

One major reason for the delay is of course the release of ABBA's Voyage album and everything that had to do with that. It took me forever just to collect and organise the avalanche of information, interviews and whatever else that we all drowned in. And I have to have things organised if I'm going to be able to write about the album accurately.

As for accessing information about the recording sessions for the Voyage album, I don't want to say too much about it so as not to jinx anything. But I will say that I'm cautiously positive. No further comments on that subject.

In conclusion, to everyone who's pre-ordered, I can only thank you again for your patience. I know that there are plenty of prospective readers out there who are rooting for me, preferring that I take my time and get things right, and that's a comforting thought as I struggle with getting to grips with ABBA's 1978 promotional campaigns or the making of the Super Trouper sleeve.
