A few days ago, I posted about the deadline to order my forthcoming book ABBA On Record - Packaged Promoted Reviewed if you want it signed by me with a personal dedication. But what is ABBA On Record? In my previous blog post, I promised to try to explain - the book has been in the works for such a long time that many may have forgotten what it is, and some are perhaps hearing about it for the first time now.

ABBA On Record - Packaged Promoted Reviewed is the fascinating story of what happened after ABBA's music had left the recording studio. Single by single, album by album it presents the stories behind the album sleeves, explores how the record companies worked with ABBA releases in presenting them to the record-buying public, shows what kind of success – or lack thereof – they enjoyed, and presents a selection of review excerpts to give a flavour of how the singles and albums were received by the media at the time.

It also features two appendices, which are just as attractive as the main text - if not even more so! The first appendix is The Michael B. Tretow Tapes, in which I detail hours of unheard recordings from the archives of ABBA’s trusted sound engineer. The second additional section is a chapter about ABBA's 2021 album Voyage, which I'm presenting in the same diary format as the recordings in my book ABBA - The Complete Recording Sessions.

So, that's a capsule description of the contents of the book. In a few days I will be back with more details about the contents.
